Waterways Project: November Catch Up

Gray Day
Ink and watercolor

This is my favorite time to sketch out doors. The bright light...the warm breezes...Just kidding. But I do like the linear quality of the trees and the filtered light. (No bugs helps too!) If you'd like to see a few more from the November sketchbook, I've posted them here on my blog.

I also like it when the trees go back to being living scultures! :)

These, and the additional one on your blog, are really lovely drawings -- and a timely reminder of November's soft gray bug-free qualities.

Loved the Gray Day one the best, composition appealed to me, colours just right and wow, it made me respond - wonderful.

grey day for me too - lovely simplicity and restrained colours

I like to see the bare branches as well and the skies here have been wonderful - layers of cloud scudding by and flashes of sunlight, the bare branches with a few leaves hanging on - gorgeous! but cold

Thanks all. It's wierd but I miss the bare branches when summer leafs out the trees. I do, however, HATE loosing the light by 4PM at this time of year.

These sketches and the ones on your blog are lovely - I very much like the sparseness of bare trees. I'll be at my parents for a few weeks and am really, really, really hoping for dry weather to wander and sketch around their eerie woods.
