Plein Air In June, With The Best of Intensions

Thatcher Pond,Dead Tree, More Rain Arriving

Last month, I resolved to finally just do it! I packed up my tubes of oil in my nice pochad and trekked out to my favorite haunt: Thatcher Pond. Almost without exception, everyday I had time to go out with my paints, it either rained, or was threatening to do the same. My little plein air experiments continued and if it looks like the light was the same on all the days, it pretty much was the reality of the situation!

I've had a request to show the Waterways Project in my village and I've been busy framing some of these new pieces. Now I have to catalogue them and add prices. Fingers tightly crossed for a possible first sale!

My favourites are the last 2 - but you've got a lovely series of work going on.

Good luck with the exhibition - and I hope you are going to include some of those beautiful sketches that were almost chinese/minimalist?

Thanks for the reminder. I don't have time for this show but I got them all out again and will get to work framing these!

You can tell the one's I had lots of time with and others, where I had to get back at a certain time. Oh what I would do with ooodles of extra time.

These are a good group of paintings that showcase the river well. I love the reflections and the damp atmosphere that you've caught. You can tell the weather was grey and rainy.

I hope the exhibition goes well for you. I wish I could see them in person.

Thanks Jeanette and I appreciate the support! It's a small 3 person show but I'm excited to have the project on show again.

Well done, I think plein air is a lot more difficult that people imagine but it always manages to convey a great sence of place which you have got here, keep going.
