A sketchy hint of things to come!

I mentioned I'd found a watery place to go and paint about two 1/2 hours from here and I'm SO excited! In the meantime, here's a not unrelated (got that?) sketch I did last week in Austin, Texas. Sometimes painting is the most fun thing in the world to do! (Sometimes it's hellish, but we'll leave that thought for another day.) I 'll be at the Mystery Place a week from this weekend, if the weather's good. Cross your fingers for that good weather, please!San José Hotel fish pond, Austin, TX.

Now would this two and half hours away be walking, driving or flying time?

"Not unrelated" sounds like one of those cryptic crossword clues to me

But I'm currently thinking ponds!

I really like the lovely free way you sketch in watercolour - but with such sound observation underlying it.

I liked the others that went with this on your blog too

You grab the essence of your subject so well. Its as if I'm there seeing it with you.

And you're off to a fish farm?? :)

I too can't wait to hear about your watery find. This is so fluid...appropriate for your subject.

The use of colour on the crisp paper is beautiful, Laura - and yes, I am very intrigued of what your location and subject matter will be :)
